Bankruptcy is federal law. Cases are held in special federal bankruptcy courts. If you live in Marshall, Giles or Maury County, your case will be in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Middle District of Tennessee at Columbia. If you live in Bedford, Moore or Lincoln County, your case will be in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Eastern District of Tennessee at Winchester. The clerks office for the Middle District of Tennessee is in Nashville. The clerks office for the Eastern District of Tennessee is in Chattanooga. Below are addresses for various locations that may be important for your case. If you live in Davidson, Williamson or Rutherford County, your meeting of creditors and/or court hearings will be in Nashville. It can be confusing, but don't worry. The court and I will notify you where you are supposed to be and when you're supposed to be there. For the majority of cases the only time you must be somewhere is for your one meeting of creditors.
